The history of Madron stretches from the Neolithic Age to the present time. Many ancient monuments provide visible evidence of the efforts of man over 5,000 years or more.
Madron Parish is affiliated with the Cornish Ancient Sites Preservation Network which undertakes on a voluntary basis the preservation and maintenance of the many ancient monuments throughout Cornwall. CASPN is also dedicated to facilitate and promote open access to these ancient sites. To this end CASPN is represented by Penwith Access and Rights of Way - PAROW - who are opening up and clearing the many paths throughout West Cornwall. Many of these paths lead to the stunning and exciting buildings laid down by our ancestors some thousands of years ago. Madron has perhaps the highest density of these archaeological wonders.
